Words, on the other hand, can be strung together to form more complete sentences and complex thoughts, as well as enhance literacy skills. This project outlines how to move the student from pictures to words (or a combination of both) on manual communication boards to eventually an electronic voice output device. When the student is ready for a device that has voice output - a whole new world has opened up for them - they can now "speak" so others can hear them. |
